Things to CONSIDER
The more details, the better! Here are some helpful questions to guide your commission:
✨ Purpose & Placement – Is it for a home, event, or business? Will it be displayed indoors or outdoors? Framed, unframed, or mounted?
🎨 Style & Design – Do you prefer formal, classic, fun, or elegant lettering? Would you like decorative flourishes, borders, flowers, or pictorial & illustrative elements?
🌟 Gold Leaf & Colour Choices – Are there specific colours that match your style? Would you like to incorporate luxurious gold leaf?
📆 Timeline & Budget – If you have a deadline or budget in mind, let me know so we can tailor the design accordingly.
If you already have a quote, logo, name, date, or reference image you’d like me to work from—great! If not, don’t worry. I will guide you through the process and provide sketches, lettering samples, and colour swatches so you can visualise your perfect piece before I begin.

Process
Get in touch with an idea of what you’d like. Use the form opposite for the info I need from you.
I will discuss your ideas further and give you options to mull over, with an indication of costs and timeframes.
If that all sounds good, I’ll send you an invoice for a deposit.
Once that’s paid, I’ll start designing. I will create thumbnail sketches and digital mock ups to show various colour options and gold samples if appropriate,
When you’re happy with the design, I’ll start painting your unique sign artwork!
The final invoice is due when I send you photos of the finished sign and as soon as it’s paid I’ll send your sign via courier or you are welcome to collect it from my studio,
Please allow plenty of time, my turnaround is between 1-3 weeks depending on the size, detail and any materials I may neeed to order.
Sizes & Prices
Pricing depends on size & techniques (e.g. gilding, reverse glass, framing, pictorial elements), materials, the complexity of design, and number of letters/words. The following is to give you an idea.
Hand-painted panels
Every piece is individually designed and hand painted to commission. Prices vary depending on the lettering style, amount of wording, decorative artwork and materials.
Prices start from £150
Optional extras:
- Gold leaf detailing from £50
- Framing from £50
Postage & packaging is additional, or collection is free.
All prices plus P&P (or free collection).
Simple Gold leaf on glass framed
Small (approx 15 × 20cm) from £75
Medium (approx 25x25cm) from £175
Large (approx 30x40cm featuring a word or short phrase) from £300
EXTRAS to consider would be various gilding techniques, addition of abalone shell, glitter, acid etching, colour blending, intricate detailing, pictorial elements and fancy frames.

The client specified the word CAKE and asked for a colour scheme of pinks and blues. I sketched the design and then showed my client 3 thumbnail sketches in various colour combinations. My client found this really helpful as she was able to immediately pick out her favourite choice. I then carefuly hand painted her sign. After receiving this, the client had the piece framed. This was a birthday gift designed to be displayed on an interior wall.
