I was commissioned by Dan of Decreate to sign paint the name High Wycombe as a title to Dan’s mural of High Wycombe through history. This coincided with an exhibition called A Brush with Wycombe’s past.

This is a shop in High Wycombe town centre. The owner repainted the whole shop front to give it a revamp and asked for new signage which was originally cream on black. He wasnt sure what style of lettering to go for so I sketched a few suggestions and then mocked up a digital image to show the 3 different options. The owner preferred this Roman style. I added the subtle scrollwork on each end of the boards to enhance the design. It uses the space and frames the words and has a simple classsic style.

Commisssion for a birthday gift

Sign for interior display CAKE hand painted in fancy circus style lettering in pinks and turquoise on a pale blue background — ‘CAKE’ comissioned for a birthday present.

The client specified the word CAKE and asked for a colour scheme of pinks and blues. I sketched the design and then showed my client 3 thumbnail sketches of different colour combinations, based on pinks and blues. My client found this really helpful as she was able to immediately pick out her favourite choice. I then carefuly hand painted her sign. After receiving this, the client had the piece framed. This was a birthday gift designed to be put on the wall in the home.
