A recent project
Here’s something that I’ve been working on lately. My latest project is a traditionally hand lettered and hand-painted blackboard menu sign for PAMS Sandwich Bar in Tring.
Supporting local, independent business
PAMS Sandwich Bar is an independent business. PAMS make freshly made food, excellent smoothies and milkshakes using fresh, natural ingredients. A hand painted sign is a cost effective solution and provides a unique, personal touch. I’m so pleased that PAMS chose to support a local independent sign writer! You can check out some other of my recent commissions here.
Please do contact me if you have any project, big or small, in mind for your home or business.
The sign writing process for a hand-painted blackboard menu sign
I supplied the board, painted it from scratch with blackboard paint. Next, I hand drafted & hand painted the lettering in 1 shot enamel paint.
My client provided me with the wording and requested white & red on black colour scheme. You will see that the logo is a red balloon.
Local landmark
The red balloon is a reference to a delightful piece of graffiti on the wall outside of PAMS. A local artist painted the image and it has become a famous landmark in Tring! See the image at the end of this blog post.
Adding the red details, really makes the text ‘pop’
Great blog Kat, nice to see your signwriting process.
Thanks Jan!
